<p>Haven’t we known this for awhile? Apple is <a target="_blank" href="https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/22/technology/apple-self-driving-car.html?mcubz=0" rel="noopener noreferrer">scaling back</a> plans to build actual self-driving cars, and will instead focus on creating autonomous systems, according to<em> The New York Times.</em></p>

<p>Apple’s iMessage is apparently the the most-used messaging platform for U.S. teens, according to a comparative analysis by Fam CEO Giuseppe Stuto — as noted by <a target="_blank" href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-imessage-facebook-messenger-snapchat-2017-8" rel="noopener noreferrer">Business Insider</a>. Fam makes a video chat app that allows groups to chat with one another via iMessage with just a few taps.</p>
<p>As noted by <a target="_blank" href="https://www.macobserver.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Mac Observer</a>, Apple has launched a new<a target="_blank" href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/collection/safari-extensions/id29520?fcId=1093963857&ls=1&mt=12&uo=4&at=10l69J" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Safari Extensions section</a> on the Mac App Store Currently there are 27 Safari Extensions on the MAS, a mix of free and for-pay extensions.</p>
<p>Parallels has launched <a target="_blank" href="http://www.parallels.com/desktop" rel="noopener noreferrer">Parallels Desktop 13 for Mac</a>, which provides macOS High Sierra readiness and support for upcoming Windows 10 features. </p>

<p>FaceTec has released ZoOm, which it claims is the “first universal 3D facial authentication software solution.” The company says it works with iOS 8.3 and higher and Android 4.3 and higher. </p>
<p>VMware has announced new versions of VMware Fusion solutions that provide Windows virtualization on Mac. </p>
<p>Chronos has released Notelife for macOS and iOS. It’s a note manager that uses iCloud to sync notes across all of a user’s devices. </p>
<p>Apple’s online store has cut its AirPod shipment estimates to two to three weeks, the first time the estimate dropped below a month since the delayed launch in December.</p>
<p>Apple has been granted another patent (number 9,740,298) for gesture controls that involves ways to control a Mac, iOS device, even a TV with gestures. It also mentions 3D glasses, though it refers to them as a “wearable monitor.” </p>
