New Webfonts added to 1000 OpenType Fonts

<p>28bit Technologies has rolled out 1000 OpenType Fonts 4.0 on the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.macappware.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacAppware website</a> and the <a target="_blank" href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/1000-opentype-fonts-commercial/id664501556" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mac App Store</a>. This font collection includes 240 unique font family styles, with a total of 1,000 fonts in all. </p>

Pixel Film Studios releases ProClone for Final Cut Pro X

<p>Pixel Film Studios has released <a target="_blank" href="http://store.pixelfilmstudios.com/product/proclone/" rel="noopener noreferrer">ProClone</a> for Apple’s Final Cut Pro X. It’s a $29.95 repeating media tool plug-in that allows users to add layers of duplicated footage on top of an original source.</p>

<p>Apple and Ireland are preparing appeals to argue that European Union (EU) competition investigators unfairly kept them in the dark during a probe that ended in a record 13 billion-euro ($14.6 billion) tax bill, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-09-30/apple-irish-said-to-claim-eu-kept-them-in-dark-during-tax-probe?bcomanews=true" rel="noopener noreferrer">reports Bloomberg</a>, quoting unnamed “people with knowledge of their case.”</p>

Taiwan is in line to get Apple Pay

<p><a href="http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20160930PD211.html"><em>Digitimes</em></a> reports that Taiwan is one of the next countries in line to get Apple Pay, Apple’s mobile payment service, possibly by the end of the year. The country’s CTBC Bank, Cathay United Commercial Bank, E.SUN Commercial Bank and Taishin International Bank are expected to support the service.</p>

The CW network’s new Apple TV app lets you watch shows for free

<p>Cord-cutters, take note: the CW network has released <a target="_blank" href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-cw/id491730359?mt=8" rel="noopener noreferrer">a free app</a> that allows all fourth-generation Apple TV owners to watch new episodes of shows on the network for free with no cable authentication or login required. It accompanies the free app for the iPhone and iPad.</p>

iOS exploit bounty expands to $1.5 million

<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.zerodium.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Zerodium</a>, a broker of security exploits, is offering $1.5 million for attacks that work against fully patched iPhones and iPads, reports <a target="_blank" href="http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/09/1-5-million-bounty-for-iphone-exploits-is-sure-to-bolster-supply-of-0days/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Ars Technica</a>. That's triple the size of its previous offer.</p>

<p>Apple is negotiating with Sharp to secure organic LED displays for the next generation of iPhones and iPads, reports <a target="_blank" href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-09-30/sharp-to-invest-57-4-billion-yen-in-organic-led-production" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bloomberg</a>, quoting an unnamed “person familiar with the matter.” Any OLED supply agreement would depend on the Osaka-based company’s output capacity.</p>
