<p>There’s a lot happening in the world of Apple news this week. Following are the hottest articles for the week of Nov. 13-17.</p>

<p>The Apple Park Visitor Center opened in Cupertino, California, Friday morning, welcoming neighbors and guests from surrounding areas to experience Apple Park’s innovations. It’s is an architectural extension of the new campus (the “spaceship campus”) with similar aesthetics in staircases, stone walls and terrazzo floors. </p>

<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.twelvesouth.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Twelve South</a> is known for creating great products to enhance the Apple experience and that’s not changed with its new cases for the iPhone X. </p>

<p>Texas Rangers investigating the mass shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas, have served search warrants on Apple, seeking digital photos, messages, documents and other types of data that might have been stored by gunman Devin Patrick Kelley, who was found with an iPhone after he killed himself.</p>

<p>Well, darn. There’ll be no HomePods under Christmas trees this year. <p>Apple is seriously eyeing Intel’s version of of 5G for a future iPhone, reports <a target="_blank" href="https://www.fastcompany.com/40497639/source-apple-is-looking-to-intel-to-power-super-fast-5g-iphone" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Fast Company</em></a>, quoting an unnamed “source with knowledge.”</p>

<p>The cord cutting continues. A <a target="_blank" href="https://www.rapidtvnews.com/2017111649690/us-pay-tv-loses-half-a-million-subscribers-in-q3.html?utm_campaign=us-pay-tv-loses-half-million-subscribers-in-q3&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter_1544#axzz4yba6hlPB" rel="noopener noreferrer">Leichtman Research Group study</a> finds that the largest pay-TV providers in the U.S., representing about 95% of the market, lost about 405,000 net video subscribers in the third quarter of 2017 — a big jump compared with a loss of about 250,000 subscribers in quarter three (3Q) of 2016.</p>

<p>Apple has filed for a patent (number 20170330539) for user interfaces for virtual instruments. It involves the user interfaces of GarageBand on macOS and iOS, and Logic Pro X on the Mac.</p>

<p>Some folks close apps on their iPhones to free up memory and stop background refreshing. Others close ‘em when apps get unresponsive. If you need to force quit apps on the iPhone X, here’s how:</p>

No reason was given for her departure; evidently, it’s a career choice change she’s made.</p>

<p>Apple has released iOS 11.1.2, which addresses an issue in which some iPhone X models became unresponsive in cold weather. The update also:</p>

<p>In its <a target="_blank" href="https://resources.ext.nokia.com/asset/201621" rel="noopener noreferrer">Threat Intelligence Report</a> for 2017, Nokia has reported the rates of malware infection for mobile devices for the first three quarters of 2017 and found that Apple’s iOS continues to be the most secure operating system. Only 3.54% of devices successfully targeted by malware were iPhones.</p>

<p>Apple’s iPhone X has been named as one of the <a target="_blank" href="http://time.com/5023212/best-inventions-of-2017/" rel="noopener noreferrer">“25 Best Inventions of 2017”</a> by TIME magazine. Here’s what TIME had to say about Apple’s next gen iPhone:</p>

<p>A GBH Insights analyst says Apple will become the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/16/apple-1-trillion-company-within-the-next-year-analyst.html" rel="noopener noreferrer">first $1 trillion company</a> within the next year as the iPhone X hits its “major upgrade cycle.” Analyst Daniel Ives says Apple shares could reach from $210 to $230 in the coming year.</p>
