<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">According to a <a href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Technology/Apple-to-launch-new-low-cost-iPhone-in-2020-to-halt-sales-decline" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Nikkei</a><em> r</em>eport, Apple plans to launch a lower-cost iPhone next spring to win customers in emerging markets and retake ground in China lost to Huawei Technologies and other rivals. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple will have its next big media event on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Dubbed “By innovation only,” it will be held at 10 a.m. at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, and new iPhones will almost certainly be introduced. This means that the brand’s current devices are set to dramatically drop in trade-in value once the new line-up is announced. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">I’m not yet ready to ditch my MacBook Air for an iPad Pro for on-the-go work and play. Could the combination of iPadOS 13, which should arrive next month or October, and a <a href="https://www.brydge.com/products/brydge-for-ipad-pro-2018" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Brydge Pro keyboard</a> change my mind? Maybe.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Trivial fact: <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-03/the-titanium-apple-card-contains-90-titanium" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Bloomberg Businessweek</em></a> sent a physical Apple Card to University of California, Berkeley professor and mineralogist Hans-Rudolf Wenk to determine the card's atomic makeup. It’s made of 90% titanium and 10% aluminum. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">The Richard Gere drama series, <em>Bastards</em>, has been scrapped by Apple, according to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/apple-scraps-richard-gere-drama-bastards-1235861"><em>The Hollywood Reporte</em>r</a>. It was one of the shows planned for the upcoming Apple TV+ streaming service.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has filed for another patent involving “smart bands” for the Apple Watch that could provide health, medical, or fitness information. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Let the Apple Car rumors roll on. Apple has filed for a patent (number 10,405,177) for “activation of cryptographically paired device” that involves cars and, likely, Apple’s CarPlay tech.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Historically, we have seen articles about new Apple product lines launching as a sudden and unexpected turn of events. The company drops a disruptive technology bomb on an unprepared, well established, but uninspired industry. The truth is actually the quite the opposite.  Apple is like a giant aircraft carrier: so big it turns very slowly and, in retrospect, we see a lot indications it is taking a certain unexpected course.  </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">According to the latest market share survey from <a href="http://netmarkeshare.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NetMarketShare,</a> the market share for both macOS and iOS was up slightly last month.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">The trade war between the U.S. and China began affecting Apple on Sept. 1 as a 15% tariff hit AirPods, Apple Watches, and headphones, reports <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-08-30/trump-trade-war-with-china-will-hit-apple-for-real-this-weekend" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bloomberg.</a> U.S. levies on iPhones will take place in December.</p>

It’s for a wireless charging mat that wirelessly transmits power to an electronic device that is placed on the mat. </p>
