<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has been granted a patent (number 10,230,796) for an “intelligent disk space manager” for its various devices. It could be configured to manage the disk space by requesting clients running on the user device to free up disk space. </p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">On a regular basis, <em>Apple World Today</em> posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are this week’s picks.</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Another day, another lawsuit. Maxwell, which makes various electronics products, <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/402008507/Maxell-vs-Apple#from_embed" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">is suing Apple</a> for … what else? …. patent infringement.</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Well, I didn’t see this coming, but a California federal jury on Friday found that Apple owes Qualcomm roughly $31 million for infringing several patents relating to smartphone processor/ This is legal battle that’s been going on for around two years.</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><a href="http://www.lg.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">LG Electronics USA</a> has announced that the first of its 2019 LG OLED TVs with AI ThinQ, will debut in April with the arrival of the 65-inch E9 (pictured) and C9 models at LG-authorized dealers nationwide. They cost $4,299 and $6,999, respectively.</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">The Batfree Power Strap has launched on <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/798072516/983654797?ref=638772&token=76581d7f" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Kickstarter</a>. It’s described as a “power strap” for the Apple Watch that provides up to 27 hours of extended battery life and wireless charging.</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">According to a rumor at the Japanese language website, <em>Macotakara</em>, as noted by <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/03/15/2019-iphone-again-predicted-to-have-square-camera-bump-triple-lens-configuration" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em></a>, the 2019 iPhones will pack a triple-camera configuration with the lens in close proximity in a square camera bump.</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">A California federal judge said Apple didn't breach an agreement not to snitch on Qualcomm when it cooperated with investigations into the chipmaker’s licensing practices, declining to release Qualcomm from making payments under the agreement in an order unsealed Thursday, reports <a href="https://www.law360.com/technology/articles/1139356/apple-didn-t-break-qualcomm-no-snitch-deal-judge-says?nl_pk=ade0cf2b-ea3f-464b-bc93-d8e19277ac63&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=technology&read_more=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Law360</em></a>.</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple is targeting “prestigious awards” for its upcoming slate of original movies and TV shows, “demonstrating grand Hollywood ambitions for a video streaming service that will compete with Netflix Inc., Amazon.com Inc. and established studios,” according to <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-03-15/apple-is-said-to-pursue-prestigious-awards-for-new-video-service" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Bloomberg</em></a>, quoting unnamed “people familiar with the plans.”</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">On March 13, <a href="https://appleworld.dreamhosters.com/blog/2019/3/13/spotify-accuses-apple-of-anti-competitive-practices)" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Spotify filed an anti-competition complaint </a>about Apple with the European Commission, claiming the Cupertino, California-based company limited innovation and constraining user choice by refusing to allow Spotify and other firms access to technology and information via the App Store. Now Apple has released a statement addressing Spotify’s claims:</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple wants to beef up its ski tracking features on the Apple Watch. The company has filed for a patent (number 20190076063) for “systems and methods of ski activity detection.”</p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has formally committed to <em>Pachinko</em>, an eight-episode drama based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Min Fine Lee, according to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/pachinko-picked-up-series-at-apple-1194524" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Hollywood Reporter</em></a>. </p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple’s suppliers are"gearing up for mass production" of updated <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/ipad/">iPad</a> and AirPods models, according to <em>DigiTimes</em>. </p>

<p style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><a href="https://www.connectedtravel.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span style="text-decoration:underline">ConnectedTravel</span></a>, a connected vehicle platform and application services company, has launched its mobile infotainment, commerce, and rewards platform and the debut of what it says is the automotive industry’s first consumer application system to “gamify" the driving and riding experience. It expands upon Apple’s CarPlay.</p>
