<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">The launch of new iPhone models at tomorrow’s “BY Innovation Only” Apple event isn't going to be a massively interesting event for investors, JP Morgan suggests — as noted by <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/09/09/other-apple-releases-besides-the-iphone-on-tuesday-will-drive-revenue-says-jp-morgan" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em></a><em> </em>— with "limited surprise" for the iPhone forcing most of the attention on pricing and other potential hardware launches. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">A <a href="https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.simon-kucher.com%2Fen&esheet=52089606&newsitemid=20190909005123&lan=en-US&anchor=Simon-Kucher+%26amp%3B+Partners&index=1&md5=298fc9a538ae8dbbe865ad7a9a5f397d" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Simon-Kucher & Partners</a> study of 10,250 representative US consumers identified significant opportunity for higher priced iPhones from those considering the 2019 models due to be introduced at tomorrow’s “By Innovation Only” event. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple and Foxconn, one of its manufacturing partners, confirm that the latter violated a Chinese labor rule by using too many temporary staff in the world’s largest iPhone factory, reports <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-09/apple-foxconn-broke-a-chinese-labor-law-for-iphone-production" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Bloomberg.</em></a></p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">The Federal Circuit on Friday <a href="https://www.law360.com/technology/articles/1196241/fed-circ-backs-apple-s-win-in-speaker-patent-fight?attachments=true&nl_pk=ade0cf2b-ea3f-464b-bc93-d8e19277ac63&read_more=1&utm_campaign=technology&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">upheld a victory</a> for Apple in a suit brought by a theater sound company, leaving in place a lower court decision that the smartphone giant didn’t infringe patents for speaker technology.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">I had really looked forward to Apple’s AirPower wireless charger, which <a href="https://appleworld.dreamhosters.com/blog/2019/3/29/goodbye-airpower-we-hardly-knew-you-well-actually-we-didnt-know-you?rq=AirPower">turned out to be vaporware</a>. <p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has filed for yet another patent (number 10,401,951) patent for a motion tracking user interface that hints at gesture-based interfaces for future Macs.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple will stream one of its special events <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=996wliAI_y4" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">on YouTube</a> for the first time Tuesday. The “By Innovation Only” event will be start at 10 a.m. (Pacific) on Tuesday, Sept. 10.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Don’t expect 5G to appear in Apple’s iPhones until 2020 — perhaps even 2021. If this comes as a shock to you — especially if you think you <strong>already</strong> have 5G — you’re not alone. In June, Apple Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue said Apple Music hit the 60 million subscriber mark.</p>

Pricing hasn’t been announced.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Siri, Apple’s personal digital assistant, has been re-written to "deflect" questions about feminism and the #MeToo movement, according to<em> </em><a href="https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/sep/06/apple-rewrote-siri-to-deflect-questions-about-feminism" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Guardian</em>.</a></p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">In a note to clients, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple will introduce its own tracking device, possibly dubbed “Apple Tag,” that will compete with products such as Tile at next week’s “By Innovation Only” event. </p>
