Apple, University of New Mexico solve patent infringement dispute

Apple and the University of New Mexico jointly moved Tuesday to dismiss a Federal Circuit appeal over whether Apple was properly sued in the Western District of Texas and told the district court that they have resolved the patent infringement dispute, reports Law360 (a subscription is required to read the entire article).

In 2019 the University accused Apple of infringing Wi-Fi technology patents with its iPhone, iPad and other devices. The school alleged that 31 Apple products, including versions of the MacBook and Apple TV, infringed three WiFi patents that are part a wireless internet industry standard.

Details of the settlement between the University of New Mexico and Apple haven’t been revealed.
