Apple ranks ninth on Forbes’ 2020 Global 2000 list

Apple ranks ninth on Forbes2020 Global 2000 list, which ranks the world’s largest public companies.

That’s down three spots from last year, but still good enough to keep it atop all listed tech companies. Among those companies, Microsoft’s market value of $1.4 trillion was the largest in America and second in the world when data was compiled on April 30, and Apple was next at $1.3 trillion.

Globally, the duo trailed only oil monolith Saudi Aramco in that metric, and Google parent Alphabet, Facebook, and Chinese conglomerate Tencent are also among the top eight companies in the world in market value. Apple is the only tech company in the top 10 in total sales.

“While other industries continue to bear the brunt of the coronavirus crisis, many tech corporations are already emerging from the disruption and returning to full strength,” Forbes notes.
