Apple News Items You Should Check out: Aug. 26

Since I can’t cover everything, I like to offer a daily round-up of must-read articles from some other great websites. To wit:

° From Popular Mechanics: In a guest editorial Apple CEO Tim Cook talks about the value of tinkering, the right to privacy, and Apple’s enduring legacy.

° From MacRumors: Following the launch of iOS 15.6.1 last Wednesday, Apple has stopped signing iOS 15.6, the previously available version that came out in mid-July.

° From Hypebeast: A signed letter from Steve Jobs saying he doesn’t give out autographs sold for $478,939 at auction.

° From AdWeek: A report by fraud detection platform Pixalate claims that a number of apps aimed at children are violating COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) by unknowingly sharing data signals.

° From 9to5Mac: Through November 28, Samsung smart TV owners can get 3 months free access to Apple TV+/

° From MacVoices Live!: On the new episode, the MacVoices Live! panel of Chuck Joiner, David Ginsburg, Mark Fuccio, Warren Sklar, Jeff Gamet, Jim Rea, and Guy Serle look at the question of foldable phones: who wants one, what benefits would they have, and what configuration options there might be. (Part 1)
