Notable apps and updates: March 18

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS

Avira, a cybersecurity brand, has released an all-new Avira Security for Mac, including a free version as well as a prime version with extra features.

The all-in-one solution is designed to block and remove threats, enable worry-free browsing, shopping and payment through its real-time protection, and protect data with VPN encryption.

Avira Security for Mac has been redesigned from the ground up and is built using the latest Apple’s Swift, SwiftUI, Combine frameworks alongside with the best in breed Avira protection technologies such as SAVAPI and APC. The app benefits from the latest technology stack to conserve system resources and not slow down the system, all while delivering best-in-class protection, according to Stephan Brenner, Avira vice president of Product.

Avira Security requires a Mac running macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later, as well as having at least 2GB of RAM, 2 GB of free disk space, and an Internet connection.

iOS

505 Games, in partnership with Curve Digital and developer No Brakes Games, has released new content for the mobile version of puzzle platformer Human: Fall Flat, which costs US$4.99.

For players on iOS and Android devices, a new update available today is delivering fan-made courses Golf and City. Golf and City are community-created levels from winners in Curve Digital and No Brakes Games’ Human: Fall Flat Worldwide Workshop competition in which fans submit in-game levels for cash prizes.
