Apple Daily Report: Apple Music lyrics expanded to seven more countries (and more news)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out. 

As noted by AppleInsider, Apple has expanded Apple Music song lyrics functionality to France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa and Spain. Apple Music lyrics includes both song lyrics, which appear onscreen while listening to tunes, and a search feature that allows users to find song titles by typing in a relevant string of words. 

Apple will hold its annual shareholders meeting March 1 at the Apple Park’s Steve Jobs Theater.

Analysts from Bank of America Merrill Lynch have suggested that Apple is facing a potentially worrisome “informal boycott” from consumers in China and India, according to Bloomberg.



A new report from The Verge looks at some concerns about the Apple Watch ECG feature from two doctors who believe that more data isn’t necessarily better. They explain how they think the ECG app could cause problems for healthy Apple Watch users as well as the healthcare system.

Apple CEO Tim Cook addressed the negative sentiment around his company in an interview with CNBC‘s Jim Cramer. The tech giant’s growing ecosystem is “probably underappreciated” by naysayers, he says.

Apple has shared a list of AirPlay 2–enabled TVs that have been announced so far.
