Notable apps and app updates for Oct. 6, 2016

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS Apps/Updates

Mac Broadcaster has announced JustBroadcaster for Facebook 1.7, an update to their powerful Facebook live-streaming app for the Mac.

The app offers individuals and businesses a tool to broadcast live content directly to Facebook, from their Mac. Video streams can include the Mac’s desktop, video from individual apps, iOS devices, webcams, and more. Version 1.7 offers text overlays (titling) as well as direct support for professional BlackMagic devices.

JustBroadcaster for Facebook 1.7 costs US$29.99 and requires macOS 10.10 or higher. It’s available worldwide through the Mac App Store in the Video category. A one-year license is also available for $15 at the JustBroadcaster website, where a demo is available for download.

Zevrix Solutions has released Graphic Inspector 2.1.6, a compatibility update to its quality control solution for images and vector graphic files.

The tool is designed to solve the problem of quickly locating files with specific resolution, color, spot channels, fonts and other attributes. Graphic Inspector can also search file metadata, report image compression, and save search criteria in workflow specific presets. The new version introduces full support for macOS Sierra.

Graphic Inspector can be purchased from the Zevrix website for $19.95, as well as from authorized resellers. It’s free with purchase of PDF Checkpoint or InPreflight Pro for Adobe InDesign. A demo is available for download. Version 2.1.6 is free for users of previous versions. Graphic Inspector requires macOS 10.5 or higher (some features require 10.7 or later).

iOS Apps/Updates

1Tucan has debuted Learning Letters – Alphabet Hunt 1.0.4. The $0.99 app is designed to teach kids their ABCs in a fun way by reinforcing letter recognition, phonetics and language learning.
