Apple may be planning to announce a new partnership with home security company ADT in conjunction with the debut of its home hub, according to MacRumors. Here are the highlights from the report:
° Since around July, ADT has posted “Low Voltage Technician” job listings in various U.S. cities, but those hired for the position so far have been provided with very few details about their specific responsibilities.
° ADT has provided these new hires with iPhones for work, whereas its other technicians have received Android devices.
° Some of the new hires said ADT finally plans to share more details about the role later this month, so the company may be waiting for Apple to announce its smart home hub on Tuesday.
The home hub may be dubbed the “HomePad.” Whatever it’s name, the home hub, along with a new Apple TV set-top box and new HomePod minis, are expected to be unveiled at the October 13 “Welcome Home” event. The home hub is expected to have a speaker (of course), a 7-inch display, an operating system that’s built around Siri AI that looks “like a mashup of iOS and watchOS.”
