Tech 21’s EvoPulse is a sleek, protective case for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max

Tech 21 recently sent us several cases for the new iPhone 18 Pro Max. I’m inundated with cases from multiple companies, and there’s not enough time in the world to review them separately. So I’m picking out my favorite case from each company.

When it comes to Tech 21, it’s the US$49.99 EvoPulse in smoky black. Like all the company’s cases, it’s built around a four-layer protection system. The hard outer layer spreads the impact force of a dropped smartphone across the surface, which helps lessen damage. The soft core has “targeted structural strength” for more protection. 

The folks at Tech 21 say their FlexShock technology — the heart of their protection system — absorbs and disperses energy to “dramatically reduce damage from drops.” The EvoPulse purportedly offers 12-foot drop protection. However, since my iPhone 18 Pro Max isn’t a review unit (I paid for it myself), I’m not going to test that out. I’ll just take Tech 21’s word for it.

However, the EvoPulse does seem durable. And its soft TPU inner layer offers a stable grip for the iPhone with a secure. It also has a precision snap-fit finish.

The EvoPulse is MagSafe compatible, a must-have feature for me. It’s only 2mm thick and has a responsive camera control button.
