Apple is planning to announce two new AirPods 5 models as early as September 5, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman (a subscription is required to read the article).
Just like the AirPods 4, the AirPods 5 will come in standard and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) configurations. I’m not sure how the AirPods 5 will differ from the AirPods 4, which launched in September 2024. However, references found in recent macOS code updates point toward a possible upgrade to a new H3 chip for better audio latency and performance
Prices are expected to stay competitive, likely aligning with the previous generation’s US$129 to $179 range.
