Apple is expected to roll out a new Mac mini very soon.

Apple will debut a new Mac mini soon, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman (a subscription is required to read the article).

In fact, he says that it will be announced before the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max event, which is rumored to be held on September 9 (a foldable iPhone could be unveiled at the same time).

Gurman says Apple has tested versions of the Mac mini with both M5 and M6 chips, but it’s unclear which one will be used. The current model van be configured with a standard M4 chip or a higher-end M4 Pro chip, 16GB to 48GB of RAM, and up to 8TB of storage.

There’s no word on pricing for the Mac mini update, though, with the ongoing memory shortage, it will be more pricey than the current model. Speaking of which, Apple’s US online store in the U.S. is currently showing delivery estimates of up to 4-5 months for many Mac mini and Mac Studio configurations with upgraded amounts of RAM, reports MacRumors

The updated Mac mini, whenever it arrives, is expected to keep the same compact form factor and focus on internal performance upgrades.
