A redesigned Apple Watch with a new band attachment system is purportedly coming in 2027

Apple Watch X concept

A redesigned Apple Watch with new bands is coming in 2027, according to the leaker known as “Instant Digital.”

He/she could be referring to an “Apple Watch X,” which has been rumored since 2024.  According to an August 27, 2024 CNET report, such a watch could have a leaner design and a new mechanism for attaching bands magnetically. Also several Bloomberg reports that year said we could also see added health features. And according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch X will have a bigger display that’s nearly as big as the screen found on the Apple Watch Ultra 2. In other words close to the two-inch mark.

“Instant Digital” also says in his new X posts that the way bands attach to the 2027 Apple Watch’s cases will change, making room for a larger battery.
