We may see a second generation iPhone Air in spring of 2027.

Look for a second generation iPhone Air to arrive in spring 2027, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

The smartphone may get an Ultra Wide lens in addition to the Wide lens — which Apple hopes will make it offer better bang for the bucks. Gurman says the second generation will also offer better battery life.

The leaker known as “Instant Digital” has previously said that Apple has requested an “ultra-thin” Face ID component from suppliers that will allow the second generation iPhone Air to accommodate an ultra wide-angle lens in addition to the existing single main lens.

A redesign that includes a second camera is said to be one way that Apple thinks it can address user complaints that the iPhone Air — while an impressive design feat, has led to too many hardware compromises, especially given the US$999 price tag.

If a second generation iPhone Air does arrive next spring, it may arrive alongside a non-Pro iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. An iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will almost certainly arrive this October or November. The first foldable iPhone — expected to be dubbed either the “iPhone Fold” or  “iPhone Ultra” — is also anticipated late this year. That is, unless design issues push it to early 2027.
