How to use the Guest User features in visionOS 26

In visionOS 26, the Guest User feature allows others to use your Apple Vision Pro while protecting your private data, with enhancements for easier setup via nearby iPhone/iPad.

Setting up a guest user session:

Open Control Center: While wearing the headset, look up and tap the arrow, then tap the Guest User icon (a circle with a head inside).

Select App Access: Choose to allow access to “All Apps” or select specific apps.

Start Session: Tap Start and hand the device to the guest within 5 minutes.

Pairing Nearby Device: If configured, the guest can use their nearby iPhone or iPad (iOS 26/iPadOS 26+) to load their own previous Guest User settings.

Guest Setup: The guest will be prompted to calibrate their eyes and hands (and adjust ZEISS Optical Inserts).

Key Guest User Features

  • Data Protection: Guests cannot access your Apple Pay, passwords, or personal apps (unless permitted).
  • Accessibility & Calibration: Guests can adjust accessibility settings, or redo eye/hand setup, without affecting your personal settings.
  • Screen Mirroring: You can opt to mirror the guest’s view to your iPhone or iPad.
  • Saving Sessions: Guests can save their settings to their own linked device for faster setup next time.
  • Ending the Session: The session ends when the headset is taken off, or by selecting “End” in the Control Center.
