Apple is purportedly working on an AI wearable pin

Concept of an "Apple Pin"

I’m not sure it’s a good idea, but Apple is working an AI wearable pin, reports The Information (a subscription is required to read the entire article).

Personally, I think that Apple has enough products to work on without adding another device. Plus, there are purportedly smart glasses, Apple robots, and a HomePod with display coming, so why add yet another gadget to the line-up.

That said, The Information claims the “Apple Pin” (my proposed moniker, not theirs) will be about the size and shape of an AirTag, though a bit thicker. Other supposed features:

° It will have an aluminum and glass shell.

° It will pack two cameras at the front: a standard lens and a wide-angle lens for capturing photos and videos.

° Three microphones will to pick up sound around the wearer. ° An included speaker will play audio.

° There will be a physical control button along one edge of the device.

° It will charge wirelessly.

The Information says it’s uncertain whether Apple plans to sell the Apple Pin — likely to arrive in 2027 — on its own or bundle it with future smart glasses or other devices.
