Four cast members added to upcoming Apple TV dramedy from Stephen Chbosky

Apple Original Films’ untitled Stephen Chbosky dramedy starring Mark Wahlberg has added four new cast members: Wood Harris (“One Battle After Another”), Mark Linn-Baker (“Ghosts”), Yakov Smirnoff (“Night Court”), and Didi Conn (“Best Medicine”), reports Deadline.

Character details are under wraps. Developed and produced by Apple Studios, the film is based on 2023’s “Weekend Rebels,” an original German-language sports dramedy based on the true story of Mirco and Jason von Juterzcenka.

The story follows a father and his autistic son, who wants to find a favorite Premier League soccer club and makes his father take him to see every single team so he can decide. Sources told Deadline that this version takes place in the NBA.
