Apple plans to bring OLED display tech to most of its iPad, Mac laptop products

This is a concept of a Mac laptop with a touch screen and Apple Pencil support.

The iPad Pro already boasts an OLED display, and Apple is developing versions of the its other iPads, the MacBook Air, and the MacBook Pro, according to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg

Following is his predicted timetable for the devices:

° The iPad mini will get an OLED display (and possibly better water resistance) in 2026.

° The iPad Air won’t get an OLED display until 2027.

° There are no plans to bring the display tech to the plain ‘ol iPad.

° The MacBook Air won’t see an OLED display until at least 2028.

° The MacBook Pro will get an OLED display in late 2026.

It’s the latter product that has me most excited.

Gurman has previously predicted that we’ll see a thinner, lighter version of the pro laptop at that time. He also says it may be the first Mac with a touchscreen display. And, fingers crossed, it could be the first Mac laptop offering cellular capabilities.
