iOS 13 brought new features to the Maps app, including Collections for sharing favorite restaurants, travel destinations or places to shop with friends, and Favorites for navigating to frequent destinations, such as home, work, the gym or school. Let’s look at how to use the feature in iOS 16.
You can create your own collections or explore those created by others. These collections can be saved and shared with friends and family, making it easy to plan trips, outings, or simply share favorite spots.
To discovering existing Guides, open the Maps app and search for a location or type of place. If guides are available for that location, they will appear below the Flyover and Directions buttons in a carousel. Tap on a guide to view the list of places it contains.
To create a guide, open the Maps app. Below library click the forward pointing arrow, then tap Guides. Tap the “+” icon. Enter a name for the Guide, then tap the Camera icon to add an image from your photo library.
To aadd a place to a Guide, open the Maps app. In a place card, tap the three dot icon, then tap Add to Guides. Choose one of your guides, enter a name for the location, then tap Save.
To share a Guide, open the Maps app. Below Library, tap the forward icon, tap Guides, then tap the guide you want to share. Tap the share icon at the bottom of the guide card, tap Share Guide, then choose an option.
To edit a Guide that you created, open the Maps app. Below Library, tap the forward icon, tap Guides, then tap the guide you want to edit. Tap Edit at the bottom of the guide card. Make your changes, then tap the “X” button at the top right of the guide card.
To remove a guide, open the Maps app. Below Library, tap the forward icon, tap Guides, and swipe left on the guide you want to remove, then tap Delete.
