You can create custom AI-generated wallpapers in iOS 27 by using the new Image Playground feature built directly into the wallpaper gallery. Here’s how:
Open the picker: Touch and hold your Lock Screen, or go to Settings and tap Wallpaper, then select Add New Wallpaper.
Select Image Playground: Tap the Image Playground option in the top row of the wallpaper gallery.
Describe your vision: Type a text description of the image you want, or choose to base the generation on a photo from your library.
Choose a style: Pick an art style or additional parameters from the dropdown menu (such as lighting, colors, or animation effects).
Generate and refine: Tap the generate arrow. If you want changes, type adjustments into the prompt box until you are satisfied.
Save your wallpaper: Tap the checkmark or Add, then select Set as Wallpaper Pair to apply it to both your Lock Screen and Home Screen.
