As noted by AppleInsider, five years after it gave up on its iBooks Author app, Apple is now removing the ability for Pages to send books straight to the Apple Books store.
The tech giant alerts publishers on Thursday with an email that read: “Beginning April 3, books can no longer be directly published from Pages to Apple Books. Books created in Pages can now be exported in the format for Apple Books and can be published using the publishing portal.”
The ability to publish to Apple Books directly from pages was apparently removed in yesterday’s update of Pages to version 14.4. Pages for the Mac, iPhone, and iPad is a free download at the Mac and Apple App Stores.
