Rumor says an upcoming iPad mini will sport an OLED display made by Samsung

Weibo-based account Digital Chat Station claims an upcoming iPad mini will sport an OLED display made by Samsung.

Weibo-based account Digital Chat Station — as noted by MacRumors — claims an upcoming iPad mini will sport an OLED display made by Samsung.

The leaker was  unsure if it features a higher refresh rate than the 60Hz LCD display used in the iPad mini 7. The rumor from Digital Chat Station linked up with a December 2024 from the Omdia research group that said the iPad mini will get OLED technology in 2026 or 2027, followed by the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air in 2027-2028.

As for Macs, Omdia believes Apple will apply 120Hz OLED two-stack panels to the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models as early as 2026, followed by 13.8-inch and 15.5-inch MacBook Air models with 120Hz single-stack panels in 2028.
