Despite rumors, I don’t think we’ll see a 32-inch iMac Pro this year (perhaps ever).

Apple’s iMac Pro, once a flagship for high-performance all-in-one desktops, is rumored to return in 2025, claims a Geeky Gadgets report. The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) says this won’t happen.

Apple discontinued the 27-inch iMac in 2020. However, Geeky Gadgets says that speculation is mounting that Apple is developing a new iMac Pro with a larger screen size, potentially 30 or even 32 inches.

“This device is expected to feature advanced hardware, including the rumored M4 Pro or M4 Max chips, designed to deliver exceptional performance,” says Geeky Gadgets. “These processors would target professionals engaged in demanding tasks such as video editing, 3D rendering, and software development, providing the power needed for intensive workflows.”

I’m dubious that Apple will ever release a bigger iMac than the current 24-inch model. Even though it’s the tech giant’s biggest selling desktop computer, more and more folks are using laptops. However, I’d love to be wrong.

In a February Power On newsletter (you can subscribe at bloomberg.com), Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman said Apple may eventually release a bigger-than-24-inch iMac, but it’s not a priority for the company. He speculated that Apple would “probably eventually” get around to making a bigger model.
