How to use Handwritten Notes with Smart Script in iPadOS 18 

In iPadOS 18, more flexible handwritten notes are more fluid, flexible, and easy to read with Smart Script and the power of Apple Pencil. 

According to Apple, Smart Script unleashes powerful new capabilities for users editing handwritten text, allowing them to easily add space, or even paste typed text in their own handwriting — making editing handwritten text just as simple and flexible as editing typed text. 

Users can even scratch out handwritten text to delete it. Smart Script also maintains the look and feel of a user’s personal handwriting, automatically refining it in real time to be smoother, straighter, and more legible.

To use Handwritten Notes with Smart Script in iPadOS 18, open the Notes app, start writing with your Apple Pencil, and Smart Script will automatically refine your handwriting in real-time, making it smoother, straighter, and more legible while maintaining your personal writing style; no additional settings are needed as the feature is typically turned on by default. 

As you write, Smart Script will automatically adjust your handwriting to improve its appearance. You can easily add space, paste typed text into your handwritten note, or scratch out text to delete it, all while keeping your handwriting style. Accessing settings:
If you want to adjust Smart Script options, you can usually access them through the Apple Pencil tool menu by tapping the three dots for more options.
