Software announcements for the week of August 17-21

MacPlus Software has released MultiDock 2, an update of the Mac app that offers compact macOS panels for apps, files, and folders.

Here are some of the latest software announcements.

° MacPlus Software has released MultiDock 2, an update of the Mac app that offers compact macOS panels for apps, files, and folders. Version 2 has been completely rewritten from the ground up and adapted for modern versions of macOS. It costs US$20.65; a demo is available for download.

° Ballogy Inc., a skills development platform for youth and amateur athletes, has launched its all-new app that’s built around an AI-powered framework called MTR: Move, Train, Recover,. The new app extends Ballogy’s core mission “to develop young athletes and give coaches everything they need to help them reach their full potential.” The app is free to download and available now in the Google Play and App Store.

° Krealize, a a native app for running Krea 2 image generation locally on Apple silicon Macs, supports custom LoRAs and keeps prompts and images on the computer. Underneath the interface is a custom C++ and Objective-C++ inference engine built around MLX. Krealize is free to download directly for macOS 26 or later. PRO is an optional one-time $5 purchase, with no subscriptions.

° Firefox for iOS now includes an optional ad blocker. As Mozilla describes, it is a tool to reduce the amount of advertising shown as you browse the Internet.

° The Sonos app  on iPhone has added Live Activities. Once enabled the activity will appear after you initiate playback and then close the app. It will show the current room or group you were last playing audio from. When playback stops, the live activity will disappear after 15 minutes. While the iOS Live Activity can be viewed from your Lock Screen, you must first unlock your iPhone with Face ID or a Passcode before being able to make playback changes.

° Astropad has released Workbench 1.3, an update to its remote desktop app. The release adds several tools for accessing unattended Macs, along with performance and reliability tweaks.
