You can send and share your location in iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 in a couple of ways.
Turn On Location Services
- Open Settings on your device.
- Tap Privacy & Security.
- Tap Location Services and turn it on.
- Tap Share My Location and make sure it is active.
- Check that Messages has access set to While Using the App with Precise Location enabled.
Share Location in Messages
- Open the Messages app.
- Go to a chat with your friend.
- Tap the plus icon (+) next to the text box.
- Tap Location.
- Tap Share to pick a time limit (one hour, end of day, or indefinitely).
- Send the message.
Share Location in Find My
- Open the Find My app.
- Tap People at the bottom.
- Tap the plus icon (+) or add button.
- Choose Share My Location.
- Type your friend’s name, select them, and tap Send.
