Apple is using a 60Hz, 8.4-inch display panel in the upcoming OLED iPad mini, according to the leaker known as “yeux122” — as noted by MacRumors.

He/she claims it will sport a low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) backplane hybrid OLED panel clocked at 60Hz. The OLED iPad mini is expected to be released before year’s end.

The current iPad mini has an LCD display. As far back as November 2025, Weibo-based leaker “Instant Digital” said Apple would debut the iPad mini 8 with an OLED display in the third quarter of 2026 at the earliest. And that was the first talk of an iPad mini with an OLED display.
