How to take a photo with a filter in iOS 26

You can display a grid or level on the camera screen to help you straighten and compose your shot. Let’s look at how to do this in iOS 26.

On iPhone 12 models or earlier, you can use a filter to give your photo a color effect. Here’s how:

  1. Open Camera on your iPhone.
  2. Make sure Camera is in Photo or Portrait mode.
  3. Swipe up from the camera modes at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap Filter then swipe left or right to preview the options.
  5. Tap the Shutter button to take your shot.
  6. To stop using a filter, select Original.
  7. Tap “X”  to close the menu.
