Once you have CarPlay set up to work in iOS 26, you can arrange your CarPlay apps as you wish. Here are the specific steps for customizing your CarPlay layout:
- Access Settings: Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Navigate to CarPlay: Go to General and tap on CarPlay.
- Select Vehicle: Select your car from the list of connected vehicles.
- Customize Layout: Tap Customize to view your app list.
- Move Apps: Drag the three-line icon next to an app up or down to change its position.
- Remove/Add Apps: Tap the red minus (\(-\)) to hide an app or the green plus (\(+\)) to add hidden apps back
Changes take effect immediately on your vehicle’s display. You can also customize CarPlay widgets by selecting the Widgets option in the same menu, which allows you to drag to rearrange widgets, add new ones, or enable Smart Rotate. The top-left icon in the Customize menu is the first app on your car’s screen
