Why are two Pixelmator Pro folders showing up on my Mac?

Since I installed the latest update of Apple’s Creator Pro, two Pixelmator Pro folders pop up in my iCloud account.

Since I installed the latest update of Apple’s Creator Pro, two Pixelmator Pro folders pop up in my iCloud account.

I deleted one, but it apparently rejuvenated overnight. I’m not sure if this is a glitch with macOS 27 or the Creator Pro update. According to Apple support, if there are issues with Pixelmator Pro, you can:

Reset Pixelmator Pro

  1. Quit Pixelmator Pro.
  2. Open the Finder and choose Go > Go to Folder.
  3. Paste the following path into the Go to Folder field: ~/Library/Containers
  4. Drag all folders named “Pixelmator Pro” to the trash.

Remove and reinstall Pixelmator Pro

When you remove and reinstall Pixelmator Pro, your media won’t also be removed or affected in any way.

  1. In the Finder, choose Go > Applications.
  2. Locate Pixelmator Pro and drag it to the Trash.
  3. Reinstall the app from the App Store or restore it from a backup. When restoring a copy of the Pixelmator Pro application from a backup, drag the app from its storage location to your Applications folder.

Whatever approach you take, don’t delete active folders blindly. Deleting container or support files while Pixelmator Pro is installed can reset your app settings, clear custom brushes/templates, or cause errors.
