Apple plans to introduce new Apple Intelligence features across iOS 27 and iPadOS 27

Apple reportedly plans to introduce new Apple Intelligence features across iOS 27 and iPadOS 27.

Apple plans to introduce new Apple Intelligence features across iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. This will be in addition to the revamped, “more personalized,” AI-powered version of Siri.

“Apple Inc. is preparing a way of artificial intelligence features for its next iPhone and iPad operating systems, including a grammar check and new shortcut options, par of an effort to narrow the gap with capabilities available on rival devices,” he says.

Gurman adds that users will be able to accept individual suggestions, approve all changes or ignore them altogether. There are also controls to pause grammar checking and navigate between flagged sections of text.

Gurman says Apple is reportedly testing a “Write With Siri” toggle that will appear at the top of the keyboard in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. There’s also a new “Help Me Write” button that “appears when users activate Siri while working in a text field.”

For Shortcuts, Gurman says iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 will let people use natural language to “create shortcuts simply by describing what they want them to do.”

In the updated app, users are presented with a prompt asking, “What do you want your shortcut to do?” along with a text field to describe the request. The system then automatically builds and installs the shortcut on the device.

Gurman says that iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 will include a feature that lets users generate custom wallpapers using AI. The feature will build on the existing Image Playground app and appear as another option in the standard wallpaper picker interface.

iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, as well as the revamped version of Siri, will be unveiled at next month’s Worldwide Developer Conference. All will likely be available for end users in September or October.
