ZAGG’s super-tough XTRA screen protector is (finally) one I can install without air bubbles

ZAGG’s super-tough XTRA screen protector is (finally) one I can install without air bubbles.

ZAGG’s Fall 2025 iPhone 17 Collection includes my favorite screen protector that uses the company’s new PerfectFit Installation system.

Usually, installing a screen protection is an arduous process for me — and I always end up with annoying air bubbles between the protection device and my iPhone display. Not so with the PerfectFit.

It uses an intuitive two-step process that even I can master. It’s found in all screen protectors for the iPhone 17 range. I’ve been using the XTR5 with Eyesafe CPF60 Technology. Not only does it protect your iPhone screen, it also filters the type of blue light most likely to disrupt your circadian rhythm.

Despite its filtering abilities and anti-reflective technology, it helps make text, images appear sharper, and colors more accurate.

What’s more, according to the folks at ZAGG, the XTR5 has been given the SleepScore Recommended badge, meaning it has been evaluated by SleepScore Labs and shows evidence it positively impacts reported sleep quality.

But what about protection? The XTRA seems to be as protective as any screen protector I’ve ever used. Per ZAGG, it’s fortified with graphene and crafted with up to 30% recycled glass, which purportedly makes it up to 11x stronger than basic glass screen protection.

With all these features, the XTRA is worth the US$59.99. Apple says the new iPhone 17 lineup’s screens are protected by Ceramic Shield 2 that’s “tougher than any smartphone glass or glass-ceramic,” but I’m not taking any chances.
