If you don’t want to fork out US$269 for Apple’s Magic Keyboard for iPad and if you’re not using your iPadOS 26-running iPad as a laptop alternative, you should check out Satechi‘s OntheGo Bluetooth Keyboard with Stand and OntheGo Bluetooth Mouse.
They cost US$79.99 and $29.99, respectively, so you can get both for less than half the price of the Apple product. Satechi’s products — available in black and “sand” — offer compact wireless accessories deliver portability and productivity in a package that makes it easy-breezy to switch up (via a toggle) to three devices via Bluetooth 5.1.
The OntheGo Bluetooth Keyboard with Stand is compact with a low profile, protective design that transforms into an adjustable stand for phones or tablets up to 13 inches in both portrait and landscape modes. It feels pretty durable, and I like the feel of the keyboard with its scissor-switch keys that offer nice tactile feedback.
The OntheGo Bluetooth Keyboard with Stand folds flat so you can easily slip into a backpack or travel case. It has a 360mAh rechargeable battery and USB-C charging that should offer weeks of power (though I can’t attest to this as I’ve only been using it for a week).
Speaking of power, the OntheGo Bluetooth Mouse purportedly delivers up to 67 hours of use on a single charge with a built-in 300mAh battery and USB-C port. I like its premium soft-touch finish, customizable DPI settings, and, like its keyboard sibling, the ability to pair with up to three devices simultaneously. However, its low-profile, ambidextrous design won’t appeal to everyone.
The Satechi products work well and are very reasonably priced. However, if you are using your iPad as a laptop replacement, I’d recommend going with the Logitech Flip Folio.
