Kandji has released the results of its first ever “IT and Security Teams Tech Stack Report,” a survey of more than 1,000 IT and security professionals exposing the issues created for IT teams from tool sprawl. It has become a paradox for IT: the more tools deployed to solve problems, the more problems they actually create.
Some key findings of the “IT and Security Teams Tech Stack Report” include:
- 40% of IT admin/IT managers spent more than half of their time each week on maintenance work
- Only 26% spend the majority of their time each week on strategic work.
- When it comes to optimizing their present technology stack, better integration between tools (61%) and better automation (49%) are the highest priorities for IT teams – even higher than lowering total costs (40%).
- 41% cite security risks from poor/missing integrations; 40% say compliance/audits take too much time.
- More than 60% report they are experiencing a medium to high burnout rate, due to their present tools making up their tech stack
