It’s too bad the 2025 Worldwide Developer Conference will be online only. The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) had learned that things will kick off when CEO Tim Cook jet-packs onto the stage for the keynote.
According to CNET, Google X, the search giant’s secret lab, once considered making a jetpack, but abandoned it due to a lack of practicality such as a too much noise and too little power. However, Apple has decided it can overcome such issues.
As for the battery life issue, that is a problem. But look at all the progress Apple has made with battery life in its various devices. Apple is still working on the sound issue, but it has time.
The Apple Jetpack won’t be available until mid-2026. And it’s expected to have a starting price of US$120,000.
Happy April Fool’s Day
