In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said Apple is already working on iPad Pro models with an M6 chip and an Apple-designed 5G modem, an entry-level iPad 12 with a newer chip, and MacBook Air models with an M5 chip.
Of course, these devices will almost certainly not arrive until 2026 or later. Apple has yet to release devices with M5 processors. Also, the tech giant has yet to announce a follow-up to its C1 modem that debuted with the iPhone 16e last month.
However, the company is purportedly already working on a “C2” modem. In an interview with Reuters, Apple’s chipmaking chief Johny Srouji said the C1 modem is just the “start,” so the C2 modem is likely the next development.
