In iOS 18’s Journal app, a new insights view helps users keep track of their journaling goals, the ability to search and sort entries makes it easy to enjoy past memories.
To access the insights feature in the iOS 18 Journal app, open the app. You’ll see a summary of your journaling activity at the top, including your current writing streak, number of entries, and days journaled.
You can tap on any of these metrics to explore them further by going to the “Insights” section to view detailed statistics like your writing trends over time and a calendar view of your entries.
Use the calendar view within insights to see which days you’ve written entries. You can adjust settings to show or hide the insights summary in the Journal app
By the way, a Journal widget lets you quickly start an entry from the Home Screen or Lock Screen. Time spent journaling can be saved as mindful minutes in the Health app; you can log your state of mind right in Journal.
