Apple will hold an “It’s Showtime” event on September 9 and will almost certainly unveil the iPhone 16 line-up, new Apple Watches, and new AirPods. And MacRumors says it’s possible that the tech giant might introduce the long-rumored “Apple Watch X” to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch.
According to CNET, such a watch could have a leaner design and a new mechanism for attaching bands magnetically. According to several Bloomberg reports, we could also see added health features, such as blood-pressure monitoring. And according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch X will have a bigger display that’s nearly as big as the screen found on the Apple Watch Ultra 2. In other words close to the two-inch mark.
Other potential new features that are rumored include:
° A sleep apnea sensor, which relies on reading blood-oxygen levels;
° A glucose monitor that could use short-wave infrared absorption spectroscopy.
The Apple Watch X is expected to have the same starting price as its predecessor: US$399.
