With iOS 16, iPhone 14 model’s get a new “Action” mode, offers advanced stabilization and promises smooth-looking results for video recordings.
Here’s Apple’s description: “It uses the full sensor with more over scan and advanced roll correction to make video look incredibly stable when you’re in the middle of the action. Simply toggle it on for great-looking, smooth video without having to carry extra gear like a gimble. It also supports Dolby Vision HDR.”
To take a video with Action mode, open the Camera app on your iPhone and swipe left or right on the camera screen to switch to a different mode until you find Action mode. For photos, you can choose from, Photo, Portrait, Square, and Pano. For videos, you can choose, Cinematic, Slow-mo, Time-lapse, and Action.
Action mode can record in up to 2.8K at 60 fps, and it supports Dolby Vision HDR. All iPhone 14 models support Action mode out of the box.
