Pelican Protector will protector your iPhone — and with MagSafe compatible

The US$49.99 Pelican Protector case for the iPhone 13 line-up is purportedly created with technology once reserved for first responders and extreme-enthusiasts. So it will do great at protecting your new iPhone 13.

Its rigid, impact-resistant outer shell combined with a shock-absorbing rubber lining provides military-spec protection. The folks at Pelican say it offers 15-foot drop protection for an Apple smartphone. I haven’t tested this with my iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, the Protector has provided more than adequate protection when my clumsy self has dropped my smartphone from waist high and knocked it off my desk.

Much of this protection is due to the cases’s tough exterior which deflects impact. And the soft inner layer absorbs any remaining drop energy. Plus, the Protector case — available at Amazon — offers Micropel Protection. This antimicrobial technology, at least in theory, works to prevent the growth of these microorganisms. It “fights off the microorganisms that lead to unclean surfaces, stains, and odors that cause product quality to be compromised.”

Plus, the new edition of the Pelican Protector comes with built-in MagSafe technology. Apple says that MagSafe “improves wireless charging for a better, more efficient experience and introduces an ecosystem of easy-to-attach accessories that beautifully complement iPhone 12 Pro models.” It features an array of magnets around the wireless charging coil that connect to the iPhone  and provide up to 15W of power while still accommodating existing Qi-enabled
