On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.
macOS
CTM Development has announced FoxTrot Search 7.1. It’s an update of the macOS (10.12 and higher) app that offers a way to find what you are looking for in PDF, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and 300 other document types.
The update offers performance improvements and enhancements. It also packs a new approach to finding, focusing more on categorization and less on keywords. Plus, there’s a rewritten date categorizer, new filename and visibility categorizers, and more.
FoxTrot Search is available in Personal, Professional, Server editions. There’s also an optional app for similar searching of index files complete with embedded PDF, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and email content on iOS and iPadOS.
Zevrix Solutions has released Output Factory 2.4.63, a maintenance update to company’s output automation tool for Adobe InDesign.
The utility is designed to solve the problem of InDesign production workflows through automation of printing, exporting and other repetitive tasks. Output Factory offers batch processing, layer versioning, variable names and more. Version 2.4.63 adds support for Apple’s M1 processor.
Output Factory Output Factory can be purchased from the Zevrix website for US$170; there’s a “lite” version for $100. A demo is available for download. The update is free for the users of Output Factory 2.x, and $85 to upgrade from Output Factory 1.x and BatchOutput. Output Factory requires macOS 10.9-11.x and Adobe InDesign CS6-2021.
iPadOS/iOS
Artes Electronics has rolled out NOTA Mole Tracker 1.09.3 for iOS and Android. It’s an app to help diagnose skin cancer/melanoma at home. Version 1.0.9.3 is a maintenance update.
NOTA Mole Tracker allows you to detect the slightest changes in moles, as well as quickly make a decision about going to a dermatologist for an appointment for a diagnosis.
NOTA Mole Tracker requires iOS 13 or later. It’s s free and available in the Health and Fitness category of the Apple App Store.
