On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.
macOS
Aquarius Computer has introduces AppSwitcher 1.0 for macOS. It’s a new menu item that allows you to switch to one application at a time.
Similar to having “Hide Others” always on, with AppSwitcher allows you to maintain a clean desktop. It’s dock-less and implemented as a Menu Item. It can be set to open at login and temporarily disabled for things like dragging and dropping between apps.
AppSwitcher requires macOS 11.3 or later. It costs US$2.99 and is available at the Mac App Store in the Utilities category. A demo is available at the product website.
PDFMaster for Machas been updated to version 4.1.0. This new version adds PDF Stamp and PDF Split options.
Cisdem PDFMaster for Mac is a multifunctional tool for processing PDF files, it lets users convert, create, edit, merge, split, compress, encrypt and decrypt PDF files, just in one place.
Cisdem PDFMaster 4.1.0 requires macOS 10.13 or later, and costs $69.99 for a lifetime license for one Mac. A demo is available for download.
Zevrix Solutions has announced LinkOptimizer 6.0.18, a compatibility update to the company’s image workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign.
The utility provides automatic InDesign link size reduction, as well as conversion of image formats and other properties. Version 6.0.18 adds native support for Apple’s M1 processor, which enables users to run BatchOutput DOC on their Silicon Macs without hardware emulation.
LinkOptimizer can be purchased from the Zevrix website for $259.95; there’s a “lite”version for $179.95. A demo is available for download. The update is free for LinkOptimizer 6.x users and $130 to upgrade from previous versions. LinkOptimizer requires macOS 10.9-11.0 and Adobe InDesign / Photoshop CS6-CC 2021.
