Convenience of the the Cable

A replacement or additional cable for your iOS device, it’s extra long for added convenience. Use it to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with Lightning connector to your computer’s USB port to charge your device, back up your contacts and photos saved to your device or sync all of your latest music shows and apps.

Alternately, you can connect to the Apple USB Power Adapter (sold separately) for convenient charging from a wall outlet What’s more, the cable has a reversible design.

Lightning vs. USB vs. USB-C

Lightning cables replaced the 30-pin dock connectors used by older generations of Apple products, and instead have only eight signal pins. Some newer Apple products such as the iPad Pro have replaced the Lightning ports with USB-C ports. However, all iPhones still ship with a Lightning port.

Lightning cables transfer data at USB 2.0 speed, which is 480Mbps/60MBps. USB-C can handle USB 3.0 speed, with transfer speeds as fast as 5Gbps/640MBps (USB 3.1 Gen 1), or 10Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen2), and Thunderbolt 3, the superset of USB-C, is capable of 40Gbps.

The Apple Lightning to USB Cable allows you to connect your Lightning-equipped gadget to a variety of USB-C devices. You can add a one-year warranty to it for $4.99. Or you can add a two-year warranty for $5.99.
