Rumor: Apple’s second gen AirPods Pro coming the first half of 2021

Apple has released new firmware for the Lightning and USB-C versions of the AirPods Pro. It includes support for the new features in iOS 18 for the wearables.

Apple will release second-generation AirPods Pro the first half of this year, reports Digitimes, quoting unnamed “industry sources.” The article says Winbond Electronics will be among the flash suppliers for the earbuds.

Previous rumors have said that the AirPods Pro update will reportedly have a round design and eliminate the short stem that currently sticks out from the bottom. The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) says that sounds about right.
