Rumor: Touch ID coming to the Apple Watch

Reports from iUpdate and the Israeli site The Verifier say that an upcoming Apple Watch will incorporate Touch ID either via a fingerprint sensor built into the Digital Crown or a fingerprint sensor built under the watch screen itself.

The reports add that blood oxygen sensor and sleep tracking coming to Apple’s smart watch with watchOS 7, as well as improvements to Siri. On the downside (for some) is The Verifier’s prediction that that the Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 won’t be eligible to update to watchOS 7.
