Pricing starts at $50/month for 40-plus channels, including HBO. Next up is the Max package for $70 per month for 50-plus channels, including Cinemax. A seven-day trial period is offered for free.
No satellite or cable is needed, and no annual contract is required. You pay month-to-month and can cancel anytime (although, of course, if you pay four months in advance and get an Apple TV 4K, you can’t).
DIRECTV also has True Cloud DVR in beta. With it, you can record live TV and play it back on your own time. You get 20 hours of free storage. You can fast forward, rewind, and skip through commercials all on your favorite devices, including: Apple devices (iOS 10+) including Apple TVs; Android devices; Amazon Fire TV devices; Roku devices; Chromecast devices and TVs; and Safari and Google Chrome browsers.
